The Administrative Court of Appeal in Stockholm is Hiring Court Clerks

The Administrative Court of Appeal in Stockholm is the largest of Sweden's four administrative courts and also serves as the country's Migration Court of Appeal. The court is beautifully and centrally located on Riddarholmen in Stockholm, has approximately 200 employees, of which about 140 are lawyers. The organization consists of four adjudicating departments, one case administration department, and one administrative unit. The court handles about 20,000 cases each year and has approximately 600 different types of cases, allowing for great variation in daily work.

Job Responsibilities

As a court clerk, you belong to the court's case administration department and participate in the administrative handling of cases, from the moment the case is received by the court until it is resolved. This includes registering information and documents in the cases, managing correspondence between the parties, summoning parties to hearings, and monitoring deadlines. You will also issue judgments and decisions.

The work as a court clerk is both responsible and varied. It involves extensive contact with parties, lawyers, authorities, and the public, both in writing and by phone. A large part of the work consists of service related to case management. You will have close collaboration with your colleagues. As a court clerk, you will receive training and continuous professional development by handling and discussing the various issues that arise in the court's diverse case types. You will work together with reporting lawyers and experienced judges.

Qualifications

You should have completed secondary education and have experience in qualified administrative work, preferably from a larger organization. Experience in the public sector is an advantage. If you also have paralegal training or other relevant post-secondary education, it can be considered a merit. You should be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written form. Oral and written communication in English also occurs. The administrative case management is now almost entirely digitalized, so it is important that you are accustomed to working digitally.

Court clerks play a very important role in ensuring the court functions effectively. To perform well and thrive in the role, it is important that you:

  • are meticulous and structured
  • have good collaborative skills
  • are responsible and have a strong commitment to your work
  • are efficient and can organize and prioritize in stressful situations
  • are service-oriented, have good social skills, and contribute to a positive work environment

Additionally, you contribute to the group's collective work and foster a good atmosphere in the workplace.

The court will conduct background checks on those it intends to hire.

The court plans to begin interviews in week 3 of 2026.

Employment

The position is located in the court's registry and is a permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period. Individual salary setting applies. Start date is according to agreement. Selection and decisions regarding employment will be ongoing.
